WORMINGTON FUNERAL
The funeral took place at St. Catherine's Church, Wormington, yesterday afternoon, of Mrs. Mary Ann Dones, a widow, of the Shop, Wormington. Mrs. Dones, who was 86, died on December 31 as a result of falling down stairs at her home. For many years Mrs. Dones had kept the only shop in Wormington. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Colin Ashwin (rector of Wormington and Dumbleton). The coffin was borne by four Wormington men: Messrs. W. Dones (nephew), L. Russell, P. Russell and R. Holder. The principal mourners were Mr. Ernest Dones (son), Mrs. B. Dones (daughter-in-law), Mrs. J. Dones and Miss G. Dones (nieces), Mr. and Mrs. Roe, Sutton Coldfield, Mrs. Dick Holder, Mr. Walker (representing Col. and Mrs. Hastings Ismay), Miss Hopkins, Miss Beryl Russell, Mrs. Gissing and Mrs. Holder. There were many beautiful floral tributes.
